Terms
Terms of service
The rules for using Timbre, written to be read rather than skimmed.
Last updated October 8, 2026
Who we are
Timbre is operated by Juracich (“we”, “us”). These terms are an agreement between you and Juracich. By creating an account or using Timbre you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.
Questions about these terms go to timbre@juracich.com.
What Timbre is
Timbre indexes publicly available recordings of public figures and uses an AI model to answer questions about what those recordings say, citing the passages each answer draws on.
Answers are generated by a machine. They are a reading of a public record, not statements by the person, and they can be incomplete or wrong. Check the cited sources before relying on an answer for anything that matters. Nothing on Timbre is legal, financial, medical or other professional advice.
No affiliation
The people in Timbre’s library have not endorsed, sponsored or approved Timbre, and are not affiliated with it unless we say so expressly. Their names and likenesses are used only to identify whose public record a profile is built from.
Your account
You must be at least 16 years old, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live. Give us an email address you control and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and will tell you why unless the law or an investigation prevents it.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- present an answer as something the person actually said, or publish it under their name;
- use Timbre to impersonate, harass, defame or deceive anyone, including the people profiled;
- request a profile of a private individual;
- scrape, bulk-download or resell the corpus or answers, or get round usage limits;
- probe, overload or interfere with the service or its infrastructure;
- use Timbre in breach of any law.
Quoting an answer with its citation, and making clear it is Timbre’s reading of the record, is fine.
Plans and billing
Paid plans are subscriptions billed in advance each month through Stripe at the price shown on the pricing page. They renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from Settings and keep the plan until the end of the period you have paid for.
Refunds are covered by the refund policy. We may change prices with at least 30 days’ notice by email; a change takes effect from your next renewal after that notice.
Content and ownership
The recordings belong to whoever owns them. Timbre stores timestamped transcript passages so it can cite them and links back to the original. Rights holders and people profiled can ask for material to be removed; see the removal page.
The questions you ask are yours. You give us the licence we need to process them and show you answers, and to keep the records described in the privacy policy. The Timbre software, design and brand belong to Juracich.
Availability and changes
We work to keep Timbre available but do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue a paid plan we will refund the unused part of any period you have paid for. We may update these terms; for material changes we will email account holders before they take effect.
Liability
Timbre is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses or for decisions made on the basis of an answer.
Our total liability for any claim relating to Timbre is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or $50 if you paid nothing. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, you keep any protections the law where you live gives you.
