Questions people ask first
Before you pay.
- What happens when a compile finds almost nothing?
- It does not charge against your allowance. A person with forty public minutes cannot produce a profile worth questioning, and we would rather tell you that than sell you a thin one.
- Does a profile go stale?
- A profile is the record as of its last compile. A paid plan can deepen any profile with a new, wider sweep, which also picks up anything said since, and that deeper profile is then what everyone reads.
- Can I compile a private individual?
- No. Timbre requires a substantial public record, which in practice means a public figure. This is a deliberate limit, not a technical one.
- Can I cancel?
- Any time, from Settings. You keep the plan until the end of the period you paid for, and it does not renew. The full refund policy is on the refunds page.
- Can someone have themselves removed?
- Yes, and the process is on the ethics page. Removal takes their profile down for everybody, not just for the person who asked.
